The 2022 Celtic Solstice 5 Miler will be deemed the year of the Firebird.
The Firebird is an immortal bird with analogs in many cultures that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again. Associated with the sun, a Firebird obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor.
After two years of not-so-normal race years, the Celtic Solstice 5-Miler vows to rise from the ashes and once again end the year in glorious running fashion!
The Firebird is generally believed to be colorful and vibrant, making it stand out from all other birds. Many versions of the Firebird story describes them with red and yellow feathers, hence the logo colors. And like the race date, the Firebird typically appeared at the end of each Great Year. It should not to be confused with the car the Jim Adams dreamed of owning in 1973. Thanks once again to Celtic artist Cari Buziac for once again designing the logo.
The BROOKS RUNNING Dash 1/2 Zip outerwear (Retails at $70)
This half-zip running top warms up any adventure. Easy to layer or wear solo, the sustainable Dash ½ Zip delivers lightweight coverage that combines soft warmth with extra breathability in high-heat zones.
This year’s participants earn a super soft, versatile layer, made with recycled fabric equal to 14 plastic water bottles. The Brooks DriLayer® fabric wicks away sweat to keep you comfortable and dry, while a special blend of polyester and spandex delivers a super-soft feel. And the underarm mesh panels increase breathability to help maintain an ideal temperature by releasing excess heat. To add to the appeal, the hidden pocket (women’s in sleeve, men’s at the shoulder) and thumb holes make this item a runner’s dream.

This is intended for those who are coming in from out of town or have other extenuating circumstances. Sign ups for this option is available HERE.
REMEMBER, you can also select to have your bib and premium mailed to you. If you did not do so during registration, you can add this option up until Dec. 1. The mailing fee is $25. CLICK HERE to see instructions on how to do so.
SOCIAL TEAMS get discounted entry fees, as well as additional benefits and prices. Running with a friend (or a group!) really is so much more fun than running alone. Once the race is over, a team is there to celebrate, and relax after the accomplishments of the day. Plus, they’ll keep people going and motivate them to keep training or finish strong if they’re starting to feel sluggish mid-race.
